Golden Agri-Resources Initiated Strong Bullish Break. Time To Buy?

http://blog.traderwave.com/golden-agri-resources-bullish-break/

Swing Trading Strategy (Medium Term)

If you are a swing trader, you could be looking at riding the current upside momentum to the next key resistance of $0.50 in the weeks to months ahead.
A technical stop loss level of $0.36 should be conservative enough to ensure that any minor pullback from here wouldn’t trigger this stop loss order.
Assuming if you manage to get in at the last closing price of $0.40, you will be looking at a potential risk-reward ratio of 1:2.5.
Potential Target Level: $0.50
Entry Level: $0.40
Stop Loss Level: $0.36

Dow, Malaysia Stocks, Wing Tai, CES

DOW recovery during day shows it just can't drop much! Don't worry about STI or KLCI!

Dear Friends,

It is important that a trader develops a feel of the market. We need to sense how the market is. Today the performance of DOW Jones just shows me something. The market is still bullish, and can't drop much.

Not Even after a 399 points drop at the opening 2 hours.

One way of sensing the sentiment of the market is to take note of what happen during the day when there is a big fall or what happen the next few days after a big day tumble.

Looking at the intraday chart, we can see that the DOW recovers half the points during the session. It is still 2 hours to the closing (3.15am local time now), but looking at this recovery, I have confidence that the bullish momentum is still alive.

The reason for this drop today is because of the bad earnings release from all 3 major companies, Microsoft, P&G and Caterpillar. But overall, I still think this earnings season so far isn't too bad afterall. Overall, 79% of companies have reported actual EPS above estimate The percentage of companies reporting EPS above the mean EPS estimate is above both the 1-year (74%) average and the 5-year (73%) average. Let us see what happen to Apple and Facebook earnings tonight...

Again I would like to emphasize that DOW has a major support at 17000!

Do not be worried about STI or KLCI now. The bullish momentum is still strong! STI is now above 3400 and KLCI has zoomed past 1800! I believe they still have legs to run! Today opening may see weaker price, but it won't be for long!

Time to focus a bit on local stocks! There are so many stocks that shows big players are now coming in to scoop up the stocks. Do not waste this opportunity to accumulate them!

In my blog, www.danielloh.com , I did touch on some of the Singapore and Malaysia momentum stocks to watch out for! Take a look.

Gold : The analysis

It is Sunday morning ... Happy Father's Day to many great fathers out there. I wish to be a great father to my kids too. Yeah!!

Ok, this morning I will share what in my mind ... to buy into 'gold' related ETF or mining stocks. See how far I could focus to give some idea.

Gold : Taken from www.kitco.com, a one-year chart ... gold hit USD1800 (in Malaysia, Gold was trading above RM200 for 999) and current at USD1400.

GLD : This is an US-ETF tracking the prices of gold. Hit USD180 at Sept 2011(when markets corrected sharply) and at USD170 last Sept 2012. At USD135 levels now ... one may check IAU too, which was at a high of USD18.5(sept 2011) but at USD13.5 currently.

GLD (code O87) : This is traded in SGX ... but in USD. We are still in the strong downtrend.

HKSE (code 2840) : So the similar chart shown by this ETF, traded in HKSE.

ZhaoJin(code 1818) : Gold mining stocks are much more riskier ... and it can be seen in this gold-mining counter traded in HKSE. Incredible dive ... was at HKD18 high ... hit the low at HKD6.59, closed at HKD6.75 last Friday.

KLSE : There is no gold ETF traded in KLSE ... only one GLD-c4, a call-warrant trading at HALF cent, so it could not go lower? Punt into her, exit at ONE cent, that will be 100% profit, yeah? Sure? Call-warrants do have expiring date and if Gold not receovering any sooner, this call-warrant will be obsolete, means ... we will lose everything(very likely). How about SLV-cw ... which tracking the SLV-etf ... as silver-etf, tracking prices of silver? To me, these call-warrants can't be traded.

Will gold rebound soon, since Sept is nearing? Will stock dive again ... as Sept is nearing ... again?

Will write the updates ... in SEPT again.

Happy Day ahead, fathers.

The Fall of Gold and Their Related Sector

Posted on  by Ichimoku

Following up on a previous article written about GLD, this article looks at the mining industry that obviously would be directly impacted by the fall in recent capitulation in gold and precious metals.
By now, every investor or trader should have already read or heard about the fall of gold in the commodities market last week. If you haven’t, here’s a recap — let’s look at the charts of the  popular gold ETF, GLD
GLD monthly
Since the peak of August 2011, GLD has dropped about 22%. In fact, the ETF broke its long term uptrend support beginning of 2012 and has been trading sideways since then. Last week’s capitulation was significant when GLD broke the $150 which served as support during the consolidation period. Now that GLD has broken that psychological support, the next question is, how low can it go?
A clue would be the the popular Fibonacci 61.8% retracement level, which is a popular technical analysis tool used by traders. If we measured the Fib from its base of around $45, GLD should find some support around $132 level, which is near a the round number $130 — another psychological support if you like. Like most things in the markets, nothing goes down (or up) in a straight line, so there we could see a short bear market rally at those “round number” levels — the next one being $140 (not shown above).
Often, the price movement in a major commodity like gold will have an effect on stocks of companies involved in the mining or related industry. An ETF that tracks gold miners is the GDX

The most unbelievable stock in Singapore - Asiasons!

I can't help to still be bewildered how can a stock have such a chart pattern? Have been monitoring this stock since $0.30. The pros seems to have this stock cornered everyday, blocking the bid and ask price. Unbelievable work by the pros. Volume is so consistent. It is just a work of ART in Stock Trading! Bravo. The PICASSO of modern stock play...

Although it seems not to stop, I suggest be careful at $0.97-$1.

Singapore Stocks that are on our watchlist now (publish on 29 Nov 11.02am)

1) Ezion - anticipate to make a run till 1.47-1.5

2) Supergroup - expect resistance at 3.3 now, see if it drop, if it drop somemore might pick up. if it goes up to 3.33, might buy in upon 3.3 breakout

3) Yoma - consolidating, i just need a good up day to tell me if it might run past 0.7... and there is a good chance it will

4) Biosensors - resistance at 1.17- 1.2, not much upside now, but it is in my watchlist. Look for consolidation and watch to pounce

5) Yanlord - anticipate a run till 1.47- 1.5, today at 1.42

Do remember ur money management! All these stocks have strong sales/ earnings or strong forward earnings expectation to sustain their run. All can be our focus this quarter. Not for contra trading. If it does not go according to what we want, do prepared to hold. The good thing is that these stocks can hold a while because of fundamental story.

Recent Stock Actions: Teckwah Industrial

Took up a small stake in Teckwah Industrial based on recommendation from a friend. Teckwah is a relatively low profile company with core business in print and logistics. The business fundamentals are fair and it's currently attractively priced. Teckwah is in the news recently for the print media hub at Paya Lebar. The print business of the company is fairly constant. The non-print or logistics segment is growing and gradually taking up a larger segment of the overall business. Some key points regarding the purchase is detailed below.

Positives
  • Strong balance sheet with low gearing of 2.78% and healthy cash position of $41.7 mil
  • Dividend yield of approximately 4.8%
  • Management is forward looking and investing in infrastructure to enhance its capabilities (eg. print media hub and investments in Iskandar Malaysia)
Negatives
  • Print media business is price sensitive with increasing operating costs eroding the profits
  • Would want to see greater clarity on how management intends to grow the non-print business

How Low Genting SP can go?

Posted on  by

Genting SP just broke the support of $1.41 and currently testing the support of $1.31 (previous resistance). If this support cannot hold, don’t be surprise to see Genting SP to drop below $1.00. 161.8% FR is at $0.89. Currently Genting SP is a clear cut down trend as all three moving averages (20D, 50D, 200D SMA) are trending down.  Base on current chart, Genting SP still has not found a bottom yet. The Genting SP fairy tale story is over! Those who still “hope” to breakeven better think twice or prepare to endure the “red” portfolio for a long long time.

It's confirmed! Dow has stood above 13000, heading into next box top!

After a seven day winning streak, Dow Jones has successfully stood above 13000 points. But where is the next top now? Let me do a study and keep everyone posted.

These 2 days, I am enjoying my weekend at Malaysia after bit of a windfall...ha. This should be the life of a trader, FANTASTIC!

Apple met its resistance at $600 exactly. This stock just flew to the sky this week. I happily pocketed USD $17000 in 4 straight days, after I let go when the stock is at $595, near its highest!! Remember I ask everyone to enter when it is at $540??? This is pure product launch play at its best!

I knew that there be some consolidation at $600. This is what I called Law of Gravity of Price. I would do a post mortem analysis for everyone about my views on Apple.
